Here are the answers to some commonly asked questions about Gnoll Country Park.

Getting Here
How do I get to Gnoll Country Park?
Our full address is Gnoll Estate, Fairyland, Neath, SA11 3BS. Follow the signs from the A465. Our What Three Words reference to the entrance of the park from the car park is format.damage.sulk
Can I get to Gnoll Country Park using public transport?
Yes, you can take the 153 bus from Neath Bus Station to the Fairyland Estate and walk through to the main gates.
Is it free to visit?
Gnoll Country Park is free for all visitors to explore. Some attractions such as the Indoor Play are payable on the day.
Parking charges apply year-round. You can either pay on the day by cash, card or using the MiPermit App. Alternatively, you can purchase an annual park just for Gnoll which gives you discount in the café and the indoor play area. For even better value and to enjoy all of the Country Parks in Neath Port Talbot you can purchase an All Parks Pass which grants you access to Margam Country Park, Afan Forest Park and Gnoll Country Park with discounts available on activities, food and drink at all three parks.
What are the opening times?

Is Gnoll Country Park accessible for all visitors?
Our Visitor Centre is fully accessible with level access at all entrances and a passenger lift to access all floors. There are accessible toilets and a Changing Places facility within the Visitor Centre too.
Gnoll Country Park is generally accessible to all. Many of the main footpaths, especially around the lake, are wide and suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. The Family trail is fully accessible. Our other trails offer mixed terrain and may not be suitable for wheelchair or pushchair users.
Do you have disabled parking bays?
Yes, we have 10 disabled parking bays located next to the Visitor Centre.
Do you have electric vehicle charging points?
Not at the moment but we are always looking for ways to improve the visitor experience so this may be a feature that will be added in the future.
Facilities
Are there public toilets?
Yes, our toilets are located in the Visitor Centre. We have disabled toilets and baby changing facilities too.
Are dogs allowed at Gnoll Country Park?
Yes indeed! Furry friends are more than welcome to visit Gnoll Country Park. We ask that dogs are kept on a lead when close to the Visitor Centre and Playgrounds. Well behaved dogs area allowed inside the Visitor Centre in the downstairs area. We even serve pup-a-cino’s and Utterly Mutterly Dog Ice Cream to keep those furry friend’s tails wagging!
We ask visitors to pick up after their dogs and there are dog litter bins situated throughout the park.
What food outlets are available?
Visitors can enjoy a range of hot and cold drinks, light snacks, sandwiches, cooked meals and ice cream.
Our Barista-quality machines offer all of you favourite coffee styles, along with a full decaf and alternative milk range, plus baby-cino and pup-a-cinos!
You can also buy duck food at the café to feed the ducks on the lake.
Does the café cater for specific dietary requirements?
Yes, all allergens and dietary requirements are catered for in the café.
Are there picnic areas?
Yes! There are a number of designated picnic areas as well as plenty of green space to enjoy an outdoor lunch. Feel free to bring your own picnic along or buy some take-away food from the Café to enjoy the surroundings in the park.
Do you have a lost property service?
If you have lost something, please email gnollpark@npt.gov.uk and let us know and we will do our best to find your item.
If you have found some lost property, please hand it in to the café in the Visitor Centre.
Things to see and do
Are there any events happening at the park today?
There’s always something to do at Gnoll Country Park. Check out our Plan Your Visit page to learn more about everything on offer. We also have some special events planned which you can find out more about and book here.
We host a wide range of events throughout the year including a food festival, family fun days, and car shows. We also host a weekly Parkrun and Junior Parkrun.
What activities are available for children and families?
Gnoll Country Park offers a wide range of activities for families, including woodland walks, children’s play areas (including an adventure playground), duck ponds, and historical features like the Gnoll House ruins and 18th-century cascades.
Can I cycle around the park?
Yes, bikes and scooters are permitted in the park. We ask all bike riders to be courteous to others and not ride at speed.
Can I feed the ducks?
Yes, you can feed the ducks. Duck food is available to purchase at the Visitor Centre.
Are there walking trails and routes?
Yes, there are numerous waymarked woodland and lakeside walks. You can find trails of varying difficulty, including flat paths suitable for buggies and wheelchairs, and more hidden trails leading to historical ruins.
Are there any historical features to explore?
Yes, the park is an early-18th-century landscaped garden with Grade II listed status. You can explore the ruins of Gnoll House, the cascades, a grotto, and an ice house. Learn more about the history of Gnoll Park here.
Rules and Regulations
Are there any prohibited items at Gnoll Country Park?
We ask that all visitors to the park be courteous to each other and are mindful of their surroundings, placing all litter in bins and leaving the park as you found it.
Loud music is not permitted.
Bikes and scooters must be used responsibly throughout the park and not ridden at speed.
Open fires and barbecues are not permitted.
Any organised or commercial events must hold an event licence and be arranged via Gnoll Country Park Management. No drone flying without permission.
Can I go fishing?
No, we do not allow fishing at Gnoll Country Park.
