There’s more than meets the eye at Gnoll Country Park
Gnoll Country Park is a 240 acre park on the Eastern edge of Neath. It is a great destination to explore, whether you’re interested in history, nature or simply want to stretch your legs in the great outdoors. We have ponds, walking trails, open green spaces and many significant features such as the cascades and the Gnoll House ruins. We even have holiday accommodation on site and a new Visitor Centre to enjoy a hot drink while looking over the Fishpond.
Gnoll Country Park is owned and managed by Neath Port Talbot Council.
The Gnoll Estate’s history dates back almost 400 years when it was owned by the Evans family. The land passed onto the Mackworth family in 1702 and under their ownership Gnoll House was constructed. In the years that followed some of Gnoll’s key features such as its landscaped gardens, the cascades and Ivy Tower were brought forward, bringing character and beauty.
From the moment you enter Gnoll Country Park you will see our ‘Gnollywood’ bug hotel and get an idea of the many species of animals and plants that call the park their home. If you’re a bird spotter, a botanist or just a nature-lover, you will find what you’re looking for at Gnoll Country Park.

Gnoll Park plays host to a parkrun every Saturday morning at 9.00am. The 5k route which is suitable for both beginners and more advanced runners, takes you around the Fishpond and into the woodland areas before skirting around the Gnoll House ruins and heading back to the Visitor Centre. There is even a 2k junior parkrun every Sunday morning at 9.00am.

The Friends of Gnoll Park are a group of volunteers who help to improve the natural environment in the Park. They meet monthly to work on specific projects such as invasive species removal and habitat management. The Friends are always looking for more volunteers to join them in their work. With varied woodland, gardens, green spaces and unique buildings Gnoll Country Park is the perfect backdrop for film and television productions. The Park benefits from ample parking and can be partially closed to allow for privacy on set. If you are scouting for new locations and would like know more, we would love to hear from you.
